birthday continues..

posted this picture because i wrapped the pressie b sis bought for alfred.. purposely took a picture of it to post it on my blog. not that it is nicely wrapped.. but seeing b sis was sick the day before his birthday so i offered to help her wrapped e pressie, reminding myself of being a good sister.. hee (:

sick day at home..

my nose was running marathon since yesterday afternoon.. it got worst when i came home after lesson and the water heater wasnt working when i was showering.. i bathed in cold water.. wooah!! it was too cold for me.. i pop my flu tabs and went to bed..

woke up the next morning to bathe and get ready to work.. took out my long sleeve top and jeans to keep me warm in the office but when i was bathing, i felt so unwell.. i was about to faint! sighz..

then i sms the girls and went to take a short nap before i visit the doctor.. dear dear was on his way to the police post, he came by to accompany me to the dr den back home before he went to the police post for his reservist..

i came home pop my meddy den i head back to sleep..

my house quite happening today.. xiang was back yesterday night, b sis is on leave for alfred kor birthday celebration but she is also sick like me.. dad bought us breakfast today.. i had a bit before taking my meddy then i went for a rest.. dad was cooking "lor bak" in the kitchen.. my dad is so SUPER can.. he can cook "lor bak".. wanted to learn but the drowsiness sets in and i went to rest..

after dear reservist was over, he came by to accompany me and showed me facebook pets! haha.. he was up playing it till 3am the previous night! haha. he was addicted liao wor!! haha.. we ate dad's, "lor bak".. it taste so so good!! he added my fave "tau pok" dear dear enjoyed it too!! he said my dad is so clever wor!! he can cook "lor bak" last time i thought he can only cook fragrant fried rice, chili crab, "shao pofan" aka claypot rice.. but he proved me really wrong. his instructions for teaching me how to marinate the chicken wings for my bbq and all of my friends said its fabulous!!

happy pay day cum aniversary!

it has been a long long time since we last had expensive meal.. my expensive context is 10% + 7%.. haha.. anyway, since it was pay day and our anniversary so we decide to treat ourselves to a GREAT meal!! it has been so so so long since i last had sakae..

look at our yummy menu, i think that was the most dishes i have ever ordered in sakae!! i thought the bill will amount to $60+ but the bill came up to $39.90!! we even had to force the cheesey chicken down our throats because we ate too much!

some photos we have taken during the meal. after the meal, we even went orchard to do some shopping. i realised i become so cautious and careful on my spendings! i used to be very impulsive and get anything that my eyes set on.. but now, i have to think and think.. try on to make sure i can match with my current wardrobe before i get it.. so everyone who reads this post, do tell my mummy and daddy that i have finally started to understand the importance of HARD EARNED $$.. before i get too happy about it.. my 老毛病 came back! i actually want to change hp considering im saving saving!! some history for those who do not know me from the start when i own a hp.. hp is actually part of my hobby, i change it so often that i never used a hp for more than a year! not that i am rich, the most expensive hp was w800, i bought it at 600+ and had to forgo all lunches etc.. i started with ericsson t10, then panasonic g90, then motorola v3688, then samsung, and finally sony ericsson.. i cant remember how many phones i have changed!!haha.. anyway, wont get it also cause im saving for dear birthday fest, my birthday hairdo, my best friend wedding..

welcome OCTOBER!! my fav month of the year, childrens day, dear dear birthday and babelicious aka me birthday etc etc! oktober fest!! like how the germans celebrate it! hee..

my mid-autumn festival weekend!!

happy mid-autumn festival!! this is the 1st time i enjoyed so much as an adult from this festive.. last year, dear dear and me had a mooncake at holland village eski bar.. but this year, it is something different.. we had plan a mini-celebration with sista and ali family.. but ali family cant make it..

on friday night, we met up at east coast park to enjoy the cool sea breeze, to play with the lanterns and sparkles and enjoy mooncake.. it was so windy that day.. we had trouble lighting up the lanterns.. finally, dear dear managed to light up one and they played with the sparkles..

after an hour, we are still unable to light up the 1st lantern..

as usual, im the scardy cat.. i remembered i played sparkles when i was a child but i wonder why now that im all grown up i dont dare to play with it.. as you can see in the pictures, sista is so brave! she can take so many sparkles with one hand!! i only managed to hold the sparkles twice.. hee.. i could feel the heat! my hand is burning!!

thanks dear dear for accompanying us for this mini-celebration.. though the wind was so strong that you are unable to light up the lanterns.. but hope you had fun! thanks sista for coming despite the fact that you are the only one joining us and you had a cruise to catch next morning.. hope you did had enjoyed yourself.. i was glad that we were able to catch up and had fun at the same time..

on saturday, we went to the indoor stadium for mid-autumn evangelistic service by pastor mark.. it was great!! they sang a few hokkien songs and two that i enjoyed the most was, "ji ba ban" and "ai pia jia eh yia".. i always love "ji ba ban" eversince i heard willy sang in taiwan.. the lyrics is so funny.. it goes like this, if only i had a million dollars, i would fly to haiwaii for a sun-tan and to japan to eat sushi, to italy to eat spaghetti..

i was so touched by his sermon.. spoke about the worries of a man and woman.. and only Jesus is the solution.. he talked about his ah gong.. i will get the dvd when it is out.. very good!

saw alfred kor's mum also because they brought her along to the service.. she commented that me and b sis look very alike! it must be the dim lights that hides all my flaws that she thinks we look alike.. this is the 1st time someone say we looked alike! hee..

after the service, we sat at the waterfront to enjoy the complimentary mooncakes before heading to amk to meet dear dear friends for dinner..

we went to a coffeeshop where there is a botak jones stall.. according to his friends, their portions is quite big so we ordered a chicken sausage and a cajun chicken.. it was quite good.. one of his friend ordered a botak jones burger.. it seems quite different.. so the next time i go, i will order that!

ali family also joined us because they wanted to pass us something and since they havent had dinner, dear suggested them to join us.. ali ma sewed our names onto a towel.. so sweet!!

we promised dear's brother on thursday to bring him to bishan park to play with lanterns on sunday.. so here we are.. see, how his brother and him enjoyed it.. his mum joined us also..

finally, thats the end of our weekend.. had fun though it was tiring.. but tomorrow is japan's holiday which means i do not have to work.. that is why i can stay up so late to blog.. hee.. but tomorrow i have to start on my market research tma 2.. mug again..

thursday morning, kendy brought her self-made strawberry mooncakes to office.. she always make delicious snacks for us.. her 2 sons and hubby is so blessed!! it was so delicious!! everyone was telling her how "oo-ii-shi" it was.. because they were all japanese.. hee..

i got all excited and wanted to learn make the moonies also.. so we were planning to do it on friday during lunchtime.. when we were all happy and all.. her son's principal called to say her son may have chicken pox! how sad! this means she has to take leave to take care of her child.. = we cannot make moonies on friday! :(

anyway, looking forward to the mid-autumn celebration with dear dear and civic princess later!

"la pia"!!

told my dad i wanted to post on my bloggie and he helped me carry the box so that i can take nice shots of it..though he wasnt spontaneous enough to take a photo with the la pia he specifically mentioned that this is a nice flower cut .. he cut it! haha

thanks to papa, he went to buy the teochew mooncake today, gave to ah gong, my aunt and our family.. by going all the way to geylang to get it, he made all of us happy..

this special mooncake, is my favourite!! and i get to eat it once a year during the mid-autumn festival.. many of my teochew friends have not heard of this so decide to post it on my bloggie.. hee.. fortunately i get to eat it only once a year, because why this is called a "la pia" is because is is made from pork fats = lard!!! it has a flaky crust and is filled with bean paste.. according to my grandma, the lard makes the crust flaky and crispy.. the bean paste is also cooked in lard.. resulting in the great taste! so when you eat the "la pia" it is very very oily = more calories!! told dad because he always buy good food back for us, resulting in my size now.. he rubbed it in by saying: 胖有胖的美哦！！ NO! I dont want that!!

im finally done with my assisgnment and has submitted today!! i also gotten my results back for my tma 1 for market research!! very happy and satisfied with the results.. more than 76.. hee..

by the way, i am watching devil beside you again! i forgot the ending.. and since i have completed why why love.. might as well!! haha.. now i am starting to re-appreciate 暧昧 and 理想情人。。 i prefer mike's style in why why love and prefer rainie outlook in devil beside you because her hairdo in why why love just looks kinda dumb..

JJVC movie night: Evan Almightly

thanks to sista invitation, i get to watch evan almightly on friday night! it was a bad day for me to start on friday morning.. with assignments 20% done and another 80% to complete and with the auntie coming and all.. worst! i realised i did not stock up my T*** and damn alexandra technopark do not sell!!! arghz!!

anyway, i rushed down to vivo so that i can be on time.. saw my ex-colleagues, max, wendy, jem jem, still the same! i saw him throwing pop corn at max!! guys, grow up! fun is not defined like this..hz, rach, my country manager js n his wife, jack - my dear optom whom i always go bug him whenever consumers complain!.. all still the same no change.. except for max, i think he lost some weight! as always, treat me like a little girl, the 1st question he asked was, how r you with your boy? boy? hmm.. im hitting my mid-xxx soon! anyway, prefer to stay this way.. always the little girl in everyone hearts.. (:

the show was really funny. though there wasnt much bibical quotes but i enjoyed it thoroughly.. i was mindful not to laugh too loud during the show in case i get recognise and get a golden award for being the one with the loudest laughter..

if you have time to spare, do watch the show and be prepared for a good laugh! and i have to emphasize, im a simple girl to please.. so for me its very hilarous and i laughed non-stop!

happy birthday, princess jas..

friday night, went to phin's steakhouse to celebrate princess jas birthday.. after that, went to phuture with the girls.. thanks dear dear for accompanying me there.. it was my worst experience in a club.. we were surrounded by guys all the time.. there wasnt a single girl at the dancefloor except for us.. i felt kinda intimidated.. really scared.. my legs were breaking.. people were stepping on my toes all the time.. my big toe was bruised! they were pushing and pushing.. i remember the last time we went there it wasnt like that.. we stayed till about 2am and we left.. we had a hard time squeezing ourselves out of the dancefloor.. but well, the great thing now is that they cant smoke in clubs now and the air is fresher and the view is clearer! (:

since last weekend, have been mugging and mugging.. though i dislike the stress and all.. but when we mug, we spend less $$ because we stay home all the time and we wake up early on sunday morning to have mac breakfast.. i have been having hotcakes consecutively for the past weekends that i decide to have big breakfast this time.. i dipped the hot, soft bread into my maple syrup!! delicious!! yum yum!! the scrambled eggs is so yummy until i felt egg shells in it.. i felt like changing it.. regretted not changing it.. the next time i feel he egg shell, i shall change it!!!

have been brainstorming on my anti-drug abuse pr campaign.. took leave today but have been blogging. hee.. all rightey, i shall go mug and stop all distractions!!

tomorrow going to watch evan almightly with sista! so looking forward!! sista, im glad that you matured after the past 1 month! im happy to see you in all smiles, real smiles and not to hide your sadness and disappointments.. love u!!

steamboat dinner

gg for steamboat dinner tonight.. my favourite! i can have it weekly but dear doesnt really like.. but my favourite is the one at suntec.. pricey yet the ingredients are better than others.. they have yummy desserts, fruits, chicken rice, rojak, quiche, cakes, puffs and all other normal steamboat ingredients.. i love their mini chicken franks best!! sista and i just love the ti kua.. v.nice!! dear has a thing for sweet stuff.. he simply love the pastries! *yummy*

anyway, beside the point.. im quite scared.. nervous? not really sure.. have been waiting how it would be after almost half a year no contact with them.. either no contact or low contact which does not usually happen between us.. sighz..

Lord, give me the courage!

p.s: i have to do a visual presentation, ppt slides and a report to be submitted to the student office.. hey, come on.. i am doing a degree program not some polytechnic stuff.. why do we have to do powerpoint slides? does the school teaches us how to do a business review? no! then, why the powepoint slides! i simply do not comprehend! see the long steps we have to take to obtain the report.. b sis, your mater program need to do this kinda bo liao stuff meh?? or alfred kor phd program?

1) research, research and research to substantiate all our sentences!!!
2) then footnotes, sidenotes.. referencing.. got specific referencing styles!!!
3) then have to complete the report
4) then have to do powerpoint slides
5) then have to prepare speech
6) then have to record a visual presentation to be submitted
7) then have to save the report, the powerpoint slides and visual presentation into a cd
8) then have to hand-deliver to school to reach the students admin office!

i do not mind doing the report.. actually i have gone through it. it is quite interesting! it is advertising and promotions on the topic on public relations.. to do a proper pr campaign for anti-drugs.. sounds fun right.. hmm.. right now have to think of objectives and my 2 target audience that i want to reach.. hmm...

pps. besides submitting to the students office.. we also have to submit online so that the system can check for plagiarism!

all right after all the fun, hopefully, i have to be in mugging mode for the next 2 weekends..

Ratatouille..

still in all the mugging mood when i asked dear if he wants to watch the rat show.. he was initially skeptical about it because he never watch animation or rather children shows which is how he interprets.. haha. but i love them!! from young, i watched, little mermaid 3 times! how i wish i can b princess ariel.. beauty and the beast, toy soldier, toy story, antz, a bug's life, monster inc, chicken run, robots, the incredibles, finding nemo, happy feet and now ratatouille!! (well, i didnt catch the cars show..)

i love it! i simply love it! every show has a story to it.. an inspiring one.. it never fails to make me enjoy the movie! my intial skeptical dear also liked it.. he told me it was a great show after! hee..

im impressed, truly because they even named the positions of the chef.. they even had the french accent! I learnt the different positions, executive chef, sous chef (2nd in the kitchen when the executive chef is not around), expeditier, chef de partie, sauté chef..

when remy, the rat smelt the cheese, it also named the cheese! i forgot the names because there are so many different cheeses france.. i love comté, emmantal and parmesan.. i think i prefer the hard ones than the soft ones.. brie, bleu, camembert, the rest not sure le.. im not so power with all the cheesey names..

its a great show! aunts and uncles, do bring my cute cousins to watch it! Im sure crystal, jeriel will like it!!

so tired already but i simply miss blogging.. civic princess, my dear took additional 2 tickets for u to go to the street party this sat.. though im still completing my assignment.. oppss.. should be concentrating now.. but, so excited about it! e ticket guarantees entry before 7:30pm.. so probably we'll be there around 7:15pm??

remember to bring yr hair glitter so adrian n me can be a sparkle couple! n finally i can get to put on my glitter glue i bought!! we'll take many many pictures together ok? u n adrian also take 1 pic tog ok, e 3 of us take together.. n many many other pose!!

mre excited about our mooncake celebration than the street party actually.. i will get the snow skin moon cake coz all of us like this!, lanterns, candles, matchsticks, sparkles, tidbits, drinks. any preference??. oooh.. we'll have so much fun! hmm.. how many lanterns should i get? 1 for each? but you tink the guys will wan to carry lanterns meh??

but by hook or by crook have to complete it this weekend..!! so miss the fun times where we can sing k, cycle, watching the hustle n bustle of the city while relaxing at merlion parketc..

but i have made GREAT plans for the coming mid-autumn festival! besides going for Pastor Mark session, we are going east coast to eat our fave bing pi mooncake and light lanterns this year!! last year we had mooncake at eski bar, holland village..because i had lessons till 10 on fri last semester so there were no other place we could go..

so anyway as i m saying, we will be going east coast!! civic princess + bro ray and ali family is invited to join us.. sis, we take photos with xiaolan ok? haha..

my 1st saturday at hme..

now that school starts, am working and discussing with my group mates on advertising and promotions, A&P assignment.. wow!! 2 of them found so many articles and i am supposed to digest to write the introduction of the report.. hmmm am falling asleep.. and yes the increase of the font size coz got feedback that my font size is too small..

going to take a nap now... will continue at night..

busy busy busy busy..

school has started.. everyone already starting tma 01.. my engine still havent warm up.. i will start this weekend.. has been a busy week for me.. no more going home early..

my lessons are consecutive days.. for instance, this week, monday i went for the company dinner then tues and wed lessons.. what makes it worst! the school revamp the modules.. from 10 credits per module to 5 credits per module.. so this semester, i am taking 3 modules!! poor dear dear take 4 and 3 exams!

i haven seen my dad for the whole of this week! yah.. i do.. his shadows when i was with xiao ace on my bed.. i remember telling him last monday while we were watching 手足, the channel 8 show.. i told him tmr starts school le and i cant watch tv programme any more.. sighz.. then, he "or-bi-quak" me.. if you know what it means.. and true enough.. i haven watched 手足 since last monday.. and have not seen him.. hopefully, i can see him today.. anyway, i already sms him yesterday to tell him i miss him.. :)

the 5 credits module includes online quiz which is next week and i have yet to start revising.. the bad side of the 5 credits module is that we have more group assignment! GROUP!!! how to have group assignment when we are all working.. some even on shifts etc.. how to meet up for discussion?? sighz.. and 5 credit modules is conducted in a tutorial style which also means, translated by alvin, last sem classmate, told me that 5 credits means we cannot miss any class because it is in a tutorial style and we can do mini discussions during our breaks and after class.. can you imagine? our lessons end at 10pm, then we had to discuss.. so late already!!

the best part was, during our 1st lecture/ tutorial. tutors already highlight TMA 1.. what they expects etc.. now the school is looking for quality and quantity.. can only write 1000 words for 100%.. how to?? we were trained to write 5000 words report.. arghz.. the lesser may not necessarily mean better..

then yesterday, my marketing research lecturer ended her last slide at 9:15pm.. i thought.. great! can go off early today.. but, she went on to talk about TMA 2.. can you imagine?? tma 2.. when tma 1 i have not started!!! oh my.. even the lecturer is so KS!!

dear, we have no choice.. let's mug the whole of this saturday.. and today evening at my place.. with wireless internet and my xiao ace n my pc.. =) cheerios to xiao ace!!

on monday morning, team had a fiscal meeting at the head office.. i joined them for the team building..

wow! it has a very nice view.. you can oversee the marina bay.. so during the team building session, i would admire the view.. you see, the meeting has 4 sides, usually 4 walls.. but for the meeting room, it has 2 walls and the other 2 sides is a glass window where you can oversee the singapore river and shenton way..

that level are all meeting rooms.. big and small.. good for mentoring sessions.. look at one of the resting area.. i like the colorful sofa.. makes the office less formal.. the bright colors brightens up my mood..


they even had window decal as part of the deco..

after that, we had a welcome party at ivory kitchen, indian cuisine somewhere at clarke quay..

the food was ok.. but the kulfi was bad.. it was too sweet for me.. i prefer my chef milind.. a humble indian chef's kulfi.. he used to be the head chef for rang mahal..

the flower shop at my office building has this collection of doufus! and i love them.. my nose and skin is quite sensitive so i never like soft toys with fur. short or long.. mao mao.. i dont really fancy..

i prefer those beaded kind.. like the doufus!! but you know how much they cost?? $38.90!! so ex.. so im not getting it.. i saw the doufus at action city but it is the furry furry type..

but as long as i can get to see it every morning when i come to work and when i go home.. i am satisfied.. remember? i am quite a simple girl to please.. agree dear? hee..

well, 姐 besides wishing you a great happy birthday with the usual, stay young, sweet, pretty, always.. want to also hope that you will have a better revelation of Him so that you can bless us also.. hee hee.. and to always be the big sister figure/ authority so, we the young ones, listen to you..

did you know that i had a "hard" time being the eldest when you went for an exchange program many years back? there were so many times, i wish you were here with us.. you always is wise and calm in making decisions.. not like me, so impulsive and always so kan chiong to get things settled.. but often, does not settled but became worst! i remember i cried once into your mailbox and due to the time difference, you were not able to call me back almost immediately, the next morning you called, wow! am i relieved and glad.. you spent quite a fair bit of $$ talking to me..

msn was not so in that time, so whenever you came onto icq, we were so happy! finally you can update us on your life.. your road trip.. visiting nigera falls.. wow! how i envy you!!

anyway, im really glad im not the firstborn, the eldest.. to always take up responsibility and to meet mummy expectations.. so i do not have to meet.. haha.. (:

friday evening, we went to watch jay chou's secret! though it is not exactly the show you may want to watch after a long week of work and school.. with all the online quiz and assignment due dates coming.. arghz!!

but dear n me love jay chou.. so we bought the earliest tickets sacrificing our dinner to watch his show.. but we had nachos and salted and sweet popcorn! hee..

oh.. i love that movie so much.. though im not revealing what the secret is.. hee..

jay is really so talented.. many say that he so quiet.. he cant act.. etc..but he makes use of his talent in playing the piano for his movie.. i was speechless and amazed by his talent. i was so wow!!

dear was commenting that throughout the show, i was so quiet.. because he says usually that i will keep asking him about whats going on, why the actor like this, why the actress like that, the ending and so on and on..

happy national day!!

here's wishing singapore a happy national day where peace remains and we do not take it for granted.. perhaps im a history student that is why i appreciate national day and independence..

though i do not celebrate national day by watching the ndp live or on tv.. but it is just good to have a peaceful country.. whichever countries i have been to, i love their cheap garments, accessories, food, merchandise, friendly people, great scenery.. but i will always miss my home.. that is singapore.. because it is so clean, so safe.. nothing beats my home..

i participated ndp once when i was in sec 4, representing my uniform group.. i remember we had to wait at the indoor stadium for the rehearsals and im always very scared whenever the fighter planes fly passed.. they fly so low! the sound is deafening! we had kfc every dinner.. we had to commit every saturdays from may all the way till national day.. that was also when i see the fireworks just before my eyes.. joining the finale and sing national day songs really reminds me of the peace we have.. i enjoyed myself so much..

during our sec school days, we always perform on national day..
~ sec 1, the whole class sang its the little things on stage..

~ sec 2, some of my close classmates and i danced "stand up for singapore".. cherographed by my talented malay male classmate, faizal, who is also one of my buddies back then.. he is now a professional dancer! we live just a few blocks away, we took the same stream unlike the rest of the others who took home econs or technical.. we took art.. maybe thats why we were close back them.. some afternoons, we will go with another classmate to his house and his mum would always serve us rose syrup.. i even took care of him when he broke his leg.. i "escorted" him to and fro school.. haha..

~ sec 3, i was involved in ndp, thereby.. i do not have any memories what song they danced to on national day.. they got so "addicted" to the dance, n our cherographer enjoyed that too!!

~ sec 4, i cant remember because n levels was in september therefore, i did not participate but the rest of them performed another dance item..

~ sec 5, panicked for o levels.. no one wants to be involved! haha..

the best thing is, we have a holiday to commerate this ocassion.. though i have to work as i do not enjoy singapore public holidays.. but most of you get a holiday because of our country's independence!

p.s yippee.. going to see the fireworks afterwork tonight! hee.. (:

i went home after lessons yesterday night to watch.. i kept repeating the sweet moments that brings such warmth in my heart.. so sweet.. i cant wait for the 11th episode!!

i cant sleep also.. i kept thinking about the show.. 同嘉蒂 and 二少。。

dear, when we have $$ from bonuses, lottery whatever, we go taipei together then we can go carrefour there sit on the 摩天轮。。 can you tell that im dreaming?? haha..
