my sat dinner..

been wanting to make bak kut teh for dear dear as he loves it.. so went to get the herbs on a weekday night..

first, you need to drain the bak kut with boiling hot water..

next you need to get the herbs and garlic ready..

next, you need a big pot..

ta-da.. u got a pot of yummy soup!

next, i took out my la gourmet pan to do some frying.. since sis and alfred will be coming over for dinner.. i better prepare more dishes..

next, i made some steamed eggs..


then, i fry some beansprouts.. my fave. vege.. i had to "tiak" all the roots.. now i know how "lei chei" it is for grandma to cook this for me..


finally, i used the new rice cooker to cook some rice.. thanks mummy & papa for the rice cooker..

lastly, we had a yummilious meal! i also fry a can of luncheon meat.. sis & dear dear loves it! alfred & sis bought some chicken wings too!! we had such a hearty meal..

home on friday night..

took leave today.. initially want to make use of the time to do some baking.. but since our actual day photos is ready, we went to collect them today.. thanks mummy, who accompanied us there..

we came back in the evening, wanted to make bak kut teh for dinner but was kind of late.. so i made simple pasta which took me less than 15 mins to dinner time.. hehe..

on saturday, i woke up early to prepare lunch for dear dear and my bro who stays overnight on weekends.. and as usual, he stayed overnight on friday.. hee.. he is hooked onto GH.. this tme he brought along his classmate, elton along to play.. elton is a good boy.. which is of good influence to my brother.. i hope they had fun... but as it was rather late, did not allow them to play after 12 because we do not want the neighbours to complain.. brother, you can bring elton along during cny to my house to play.. :) bring along mandarin oranges and we will give you an angpow.. hehe..

i like to cut and prepare all the ingredients before i start to cook..

my cut ingredients:
1st step: deep fry the onions and luncheon meat to make a luncheon meat meal.. my 1st time deep frying the onions, brother discovered it turned a little too brown though i used dark sauce to camouflage it.. haha.. well, brother made a comment, he said i can cook pretty well! hehe..

my mini weekend bake..

baked peanut cookies on friday night at 11pm.. seriously, im quite tired when i was making the dough.. but i was too ambitious, i mixed 1 kg of batter!! but determined to try out my new oven, i continued to bake.. by the time the dough was ready.. gosh!! i do not really know how to operate it..

i had to take out my instruction manual! thankfully, it is in my baking drawer, ease of access.. quickly turned to the quick start page.. ta-da! got it operating!!

you must be thinking why i don't know how to operate the oven..
look at the knob on the left, it shows so many icons.. i dont even know which to use..

its a tad too sweet though.. shall reduce the sugar.. hee

though there are some cracks, shall improve it..

last weekend, i woke up early to prepare "brunch".. bought the ingredients at fairprice extra.. made wanton noodles for dear dear.. hee..

the lunch that i prepared:

love the warm pansies corelle set.. thanks to my mum-in-law who bought for us.. it is so light so it is not tiring to wash.. *thumbs up, mummy kendy for your recommendation*

some habits at home:

after washing the dishes, i always wipe the basin dry.. i hate to see it so wet..

when weekend comes, my house becomes a mini-concert.. dear dear hits the drum and my brother plays the guitar.. as he is not wearing shirt, he doesnt want to be in the picture.. hee..

last night, we went fairprice extra after work to get tidbits to prepare for the lunar new year..

see how much we stocked up! hee.. more to come.. hope i can bake pineapple tarts this weekend..

my other kitchen cabinet, which we also stock up alot of tidbits in case we are hungry.. but so far, we haven even open yet..

we had dinner outside, at my mum's place or in-laws place these days.. always want to cook after work. but is rather tiring and rush.. imagine the scene, rush home to cook, then eat, then wash, then dry, then throw rubbish.. wow! so many chores.. i want to cook because i enjoy cooking.. it is the work after that is tiring.. will try to cook during weekends.. it's fun.. i want to explore mre recipes..

i seriously want to bake.. now am too tired to bake after work.. can only wait til weekend..

one of our dinner last week at jurong point:

went home to eat yesterday.. today dear dear dabao on his way back so we ate at home.. mummy called to ask if i want to eat dessert, then they brought over.. how sweet!! though is late, i finished it all.. yummy!!

it's also time we go for exercise so i can look shapely when i wear my cny dresses.. he he.. ok, dear?

new year at home!

off to try out my winkplay my aunt gotten for my new home.. he he.. so many new accessories for the new house.. gota go buy some cny deco for it too! he he..

will post up pics when it is done up.. but i do not think will be so soon because i have to squeeze my artistic juices out man.. tough job for someone like me to do it up.. he he..

life after marriage..

usually after my friends got married, i usually ask them how's life.. normally their answer will be "like that lor.. hmm.. are we different? we have been so busy.. busy with what i do not know but i know time is short.. and we misses home badly.. we are married for less than 2 weeks but we gone home for more than 4 times.. though i live near my parents, but i do not live that near to my in-laws.. today we went back to my in-laws place for dinner too..

we got back home on 24th Dec, thanks to my gugu who went to fetch us back in her new vios.. 2 day old! he he.. we reached home about 2am.. we started to unpack all the new & dirty clothes to bring for washing.. we packed the gifts and the food stuff for our family.. 1 packet for my home, 1 packet for dear dear home, 1 packet for our house.. etc etc.. by the time we finished unpacking, it was 3am..

i went to bathe.. as my hair is wet.. i watched little nonya.. thanks to our miotv.. dear dear fell asleep while watching.. i thought was rather exciting and i stayed up till 5am to finish the episodes that were aired. so the next morning, i woke up rather late..

then over the weekend, we went 24 hrs fairprice at jurong point.. bought some bread, jam to make breakfast.. but i slept late again.. i made breakfast at 3pm! can u imagine? haha.. because i am used to having clock around the house so that when i snooze, i can tell the time.. there is no single clock around.. i must go get one this weekend. alot designs in jurong point.. hehe..

all right, gotta take sleep and prepare for work tmr.. he he..

new buys from the land of smiles for my house..

before we went, our remote control was put in a carton-liked box from the "chuang tou teng" which i kinda detested.. because it is simply not nice.. and especially so for a new house.. he he..

so my priority was to get a remote control holder when i went there.. even if i cannot find, i must get something to put it properly when im back.. but i found! there is this cute shop in the jj market which sells alot of cutesey stuff.. besides getting this remote control holder for myself, i got 1 for b sis new house.. hee.. a pair of seatbelt cuties for my aunt's new car.. a tissue holder which dear dear fancies.. prior to this, i have already bought 3 thai silk tissue holder.. 1 red for cny! he he..

sis asked me why i didnt blog about my wedding.. because i do not have the photos to blog about it.. hee..

but i received many good feedbacks about the express highlights.. i love it too! maybe some will find it too cheesy.. but the videographer thinking are in par with us.. we wanted something fun loving, comical, entertaining & sweet..

on mc today..

this morning when i woke up, i felt nauseous and my stomach was stiring and stiring.. i had told my maid to make sandwich for me to bring to work the day after.. she was at the kitchen preparing for me when i woke up..

who knows i went to the toilet and started vomiting.. my brother asked if im ok.. my maid took clothes for me to change..

at that instant, i felt sad.. next time when i live on my own.. bro & khartini is not there anymore.. whenever im sick, khartini always takes good care of me.. now that im going to live on my own.. dear dear also has to prepare for work.. will anyone take care of me in the mornings when i feel unwell? :(

It is going to be a busy week ahead..

mon & tues full day meetings with dinners..
wed is a non-working day for me as we will be doing family visits..
thurs i will be on leave to acc dear dear to the hospital.. then at night for the D&D..
fri, sat, sun will be having full day meetings again.. hiaz.. its going to be a stressful week ahead..

most of my friends asked if i rested enough for the wedding, my family advised me to sleep early everyday to get enough beauty rest to prepare for my big day.. though i slept well throughout the night with undisturbed sleep, but i didnt really rest well enough for the big day..

initially wanted to go for a beauty spa/ facial session.. but due to the little time i have for myself.. i didnt manage to relax my skin and pamper myself.. :(

i hope after my wedding things will be back into good shape.. i have more time to do my shopping, stock up on clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and be back into good shape.. more time to enjoy my new oven and once again get back into my baking mood.. i miss baking!!!

well, i also hope dear dear can manage some things well and even better after our marriage to give ourselves more security.. :)

p.s: hope we can go for a good honeymoon to relax and enjoy ourselves to start 2009 afresh..

25th Nov 08 安床。。。

过大礼的仪式过后，我们到新家，也就是我们的安乐窝，准备安床。。

我等了好久。。一至想要把 string curtain 放上。。 因为，担心送床的工人把他弄肮脏所以一至没有把他放上去。。 终于床已经送来了，我也称这个机会把他放上了。。 好开心。。 好漂亮喔！！谢谢我的设计师，也就是我的啊姨的好注意。。 把我们的安乐窝打扮得那么美丽。。
