the rain spoilt the saturday but...

had made plans for the weekend to go botanical gardens for a picnic on saturday.. the recent weather does not affect my plans and my choice of going there for the weekend.. i had already convinced dear to go there.. besides, sister went there twice and she enjoyed herself so much which makes me want to go there too..

on saturday morning, i packed my mat, canned drinks, and prepared tidbits for the picnic.. as we were going to have lunch before the botanical garden trip, i cancelled the idea of making sandwiches.. it was raining rather heavily when i went out in the morning.. we agreed to meet at orchard as there are more buses to botanical gardens.. when we met, it was still raining.. but i did not give up.. i suggested to go for lunch and then the rain might stop.. but it did not.. :(

with courtesy of melanda-chan and the vouchers i picked up at pepper lunch - central branch.. we bought 2 pepper lunch set at a discounted price!! mine is the curry beef pepper rice.. though i dont really like beef but i prefer the curry compared to the pepper rice.. tried chicken pepper rice before and i find it a bit too peppery for me.. we got the ice-cream too!! it is topped with caramel sauce and soy powder.. i liked the soy powder alot and asked for more.. he he.. great lunch!

as it is still raining after our lunch, and it looked like it is not going to stop, we decided to go the the airport instead..
this is my second time going to changi airport by train but i did not realise that there are departure and arrival flight information at the platform.. i also realised that there are more passengers taking the train to catch their flights as most of them have luggages with them..

gardens @ changi.. it is so beautful to see so many real sunflowers especially where the roots are still intact in the soil.. it is such a beautiful sight!! i took so many photos with the lovely sunflowers!!

i love sunflowers!! because they brighten up my mood!! they have a cheery personality like me.. i remember my ex-manager bought me a bunch of sunflowers on one of my birthdays because she thinks that the flowers
suit me alot.. by the way, the chinese name of sunflowers is not 太阳花 but is 夏日奎。。太阳花 is the direct translation for sunflowers..

on flowers, my favorite includes sunflowers and champagne pink roses.. (:

so we had our so-called picnic at the viewing gallery.. snacks include some donuts and nachos with cheese and salsa sauce.. yum yum!!

the beautiful secret garden...

we simply love nature and the stones.. haha
finally, we conclude the day and head off back to jp to get groceries to prepare another great economical dinner.. really have to save for bills, meals, transport, living, school fees.. pat pat and applaude myself to such great discipline.. sob sob.. haven shopped for months!
menu for the day includes:
1) stir fried tau-ge
2) kampong herbal chicken
3) cubed potato and wu can rou in tomato sauce

though the presentation is not good, but the taste is great! we cleaned up the chicken into bones..
